+ Tell me about your online gift cards?
Spa Marketing has partnered with Giftango to provide virtual gift card delivery so you can sell gift cards through your website. There is no software installation on your site, no obligation, and no complexity. This solution works with your current gift card program and requires no changes to how you currently do things. It simply offers you a new channel to increase your sales. This is a FAST turn-key solution! Many day spas are selling gift cards in one business day!
When an online sale is made, all receipts and notifications are automatically sent out via email. These emails are also branded with your colors and logos. One email is sent directly to you, which will notify you of a successful sale and instruct you to login to your PASS Administration area where you can recover credit card funds and ship the gift card or certificate per the purchaser's request. If you utilize Electronic Certificate Delivery (ECD), you may need to update your POS Software with the ID of the electronic certificate(s) to be issued.
+ How do I get started?
1. Call Spa Marketing at 860.655.2283 to speak with a customer service representative. Office hours are Monday thru Friday, 9am-5pm (EST). We can answer specific questions based on your needs.
2. Complete the Giftango Application.
3. Giftango will email you simple instructions about adding a link to your site, setting up your preferred card values, and informing staff of your new service.
+ How much does Giftango cost?
By using our sign-up link, you pay only $99 for the one-time set-up fee. That's a $200 savings. You have a choice of several low-cost plans, however, most day spas start with the entry level plan: 4.75% charge per sale and NO monthly fees. + Do you have discounting and promotional capabilities?
Yes. Just sign into your PASS Administration area and you can set up discounts and promotions for your gift cards. For instance, you can sell them for a 10% discount (or other percentage) and also specify things like:
- The dates the promotion will be valid
- A minimum dollar amount your customer must spend to receive the discount
- A required "Promotional Code" your customer must enter to receive the promotion
By utilizing these features you are able to run targeted ads, holiday promotions or give your best customers a code word to get special discounts.
+ Why offer virtual gift cards?

+ What happens to gift cards payments?
The Giftango solution can immediately authenticate and process funds to your bank when a purchase takes place. Talk to us about getting a qualified Internet Merchant Account from your Merchant Bank. Once the account is established, Giftango can take your account information and setup the Payment Gateway on your behalf.
If you do not wish to receive payments through a payment gateway, credit card information will be delivered to you in a secured manner through PASS Administration for processing.
+ Do we have to change our current gift card or certificate program in any way?
No. Giftango simply gives you the power to sell your existing gift cards or certificates using the Internet. It really is no different than someone making an order over the telephone. You simply send the virtual gift card via email as opposed to US mail.
+ Is training necessary to use Giftango's gift card system?
No, you do not need special training. The control panel is intuitive and very easy to pickup. However, Giftango's support line is available to you at any time.
+ How does Giftango's service work?
Card Purchase
Customer goes to your website and securely purchases a gift card via your fully branded gift card screen. This screen is fully customizable to support various purchasing options or gift card offerings including non-virtual gift card fulfillment or special offers.
Billing and shipment
Easily automate the billing process using PayPal Pro or Authorize.net (instant). The Gift Card is automatically sent to the intended recipient on their requested delivery date (usually instantly) as soon as billing is complete. The money is deposited directly into your bank account. Note: Giftango is easy to integrate with your existing billing process and\or point of sales system.
Redeeming cards
Staff receiving these cards can either scan a bar code to receive the card via your current POS or gift card system if you have one (the same way they are already trained to do it) or enter a gift card number into the Giftango redemption screen. Little to no training needed.
Reporting
Giftango’s reporting suite stands on its own or serves to compliment the reporting capabilities of your plastic gift card program.
+ How long does it take to get up and running?
Once you complete your Signup Application, Giftango often has your account set up by the next business day. Its then up to you or your web developer to add the necessary links on your website. Contact Spa Marketing if you need assistance with your site. (Special discount rates apply.) Most people are up and running within one to two business days.
If you would like to add your merchant bank account to the solution Giftango will generally set you up to manually run the credit cards yourself through your own terminal until you have established your Internet Merchant Account. Setting up an Internet Merchant Account takes a variable amount of time depending on the bank you are working with.
+ Can you assist me in creating my custom branded gift card?
Absolutely. In addition to your logo, you can include additional images on your card. After you set up your account, just send your images to Giftango and they will create your gift card. Don't forget, custom graphic design services are also offered at Spa Marketing.
Please note: This is a robust gift card system. It is used by big companies such as Nike, Barnes & Noble, and Lowes.
