How to Improve Your Website Conversion Rate

Many people confuse traffic with conversion, but the truth is they are vastly different. Traffic is simply the number of visitors you get to your site. On the other hand, conversion rate is the percentage of these visitors that become spa customers.

Since your goal is customer acquisition, it is easy to see that what truly matters is your conversion rate, and how well you convert website visitors into customers. After all, as a day spa owner or manager what you want is to get more customers, not just people looking at your website. So assuming that you already have decent traffic flow, how do you start to convert website visitors into customers?

Make Things Easy for CustomersRemove obstacles to website conversions

One of the best ways to convert website visitors into day spa customers is to make things easy for them. Naturally, this doesn’t mean putting a nice big ‘Buy Now’ button in the middle of the page, but rather ensuring that everything that any customer (website visitor) could want is easy to locate. So, if a customer wants to find out more, she should be able to easily do so…and if she wants to buy right away, she should be able to easily do that as well.

To improve conversions rates and make things easy for website visitors, remove obstacles that may be preventing them from taking action. Consider the following:

Product images and descriptions: When was the last time you updated your product images and descriptions in your online store? Inadequate or poor product descriptions and imagery can turn a buyer off - completely.

Registration: Does a person have to register to buy from you? Quick checkout has been around for years. Implement it, and watch your online sales soar.

Guarantees and Returns: Is your guarantee or return policy easy to find? How about your customer service information? Make sure that information is posted and easy to find.

Remove obstacles to website conversions Essentially, website visitors should receive the same level of service as your customers do at your place of business. View every visitor as a potential customer, because they are. Think about how you can best suit their every need and get them to visit your day spa. In this way, you will be able to convert website visitors into customers.

Unique Selling Proposition (UPS) - Selling the Strong and the Unique

Focus your website on what strengths your day spa has, and what makes it unique. To do this, you need to develop selling points, if you haven’t already, and ensure that there is at least one thing that sets your day spa apart from all the competition.

For example, if your day spa offers a massage service that simply can’t be found elsewhere - then focus on it. If you’ve won local awards or recognition, put that information front and center! If your therapists have special certifications, qualifications, or training, by all means, use these to your competitive advantage. Give website visitors a reason to call.

Use your website copy to "sell" your day spa and make things easy for website visitors. That is the secret to creating a site that converts visitors into customers. Develop a strong UPS, and slowly but surely, your website conversion rate will rise. As your conversion rate gets higher, you will be in a position to benefit from all the traffic that your site generates.
